Blizzard's next big MMO, codenamed Titan, has been delayed and sent back to the drawing board. 70% of the project's 100 staff were reassigned, leaving the rest of the team to start over. It's not yet known whether this next-gen MMO will target PC, console or both.
Development started in 2008 and Blizzard was originally hoping to announce the game last year. It is now looking at a 2016 release at the earliest.
A blizzard representative provided the following statement to IGN:
"We've always had a highly iterative development process, and the unannounced MMO is no exception. We've come to a point where we need to make some large design and technology changes to the game. We're using this opportunity to shift some of our resources to assist with other projects while the core team adapts our technology and tools to accommodate these new changes. Note that we haven't announced any dates for the MMO."
